Naturalism or Atheism is the belief that no god of any kind
exists. This belief generally supports either a multiverse or an
infinite universe in order to explain the appearance of intentional
design of the laws of physics. Such belief scenarios also require
variation in the fundamental constants or the laws themselves within
the infinite volume. There is no proof for these constructs; they
are
presumed by some because they represent the only mechanism that could
produce the universe we see without invoking a divine
benefactor. Naturalism in the United States is supported by about
16% of the
population. [152] Though, this figure likely includes those who
would
consider themselves agnostic. An agnostic presumes there to be no
god,
because they believe that God's existence cannot be known.
